Retailer Sustainability Assessment:

This retailer received external pressure from Wal-Mart and Safeway to report on their energy, GHG and sustainability performance. It had no formal sustainability program to establish
a baseline, streamline & catalyze their efforts.

SBC helped the retailer develop a Three-Year Strategy, which included:

  • Sustainability Assessment with GHG Inventory and Risk Analysis
  • Materiality Assessment to determine internal and external focus
  • Opportunity & Cost Saving Analysis
  • Sustainable Supply Chain Procurement Guidelines

Identified over $1.3M potential savings from environmental initiatives. The company shifted external pressure to drive business value.

Project scaled by implementing initiatives aligned with cost savings, employee engagement and enhancing their brand value to their customers & key shareholders.
